It is always a distinct pleasure to see our wines or winery mentioned in publications. Here are a few recent mentions since December!

On January 21, 2026 Christopher Waters included our 2021 Red Icon in his article  “Canadian red wines from $28 to $225 that age well” with the note:

“Red Icon is Painted Rock’s flagship red blend based on merlot and cabernet franc, with small additions of cabernet sauvignon, malbec and petit verdot, all grown on the 56-hectare property. The finished wine sports a firm texture, thanks to polished tannins that grip at this early stage of development, and a distinctive Okanagan flavour profile of dark fruit and sage, with spice and floral aromas contributing to the harmonious character.”

On January 31, 2026 Anthony Gismondi included Painted Rock in his article “Book your elbows-up Okanagan wine tour for the summer”. He mentioned our beautiful spot in the Okanagan this way:

“You could spend an entire week in the Okanagan Falls/Skaha Bench region south of Penticton and discover some of Canada’s best Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and sparkling wines. Blue Mountain, Meyer Vineyards, Noble Estates, Nighthawk Vineyards, Stags’ Hollow, Liquidity, Blasted Church and Painted Rock each share unique stories about their sub-region and wines from visually spectacular locations.”

On December 10, 2025 Dan Bilefsky mentioned Painted Rock in his article titled “A new generation of Indigenous tastemakers is energizing the Okanagan Valley”

“Tucked roughly four to five hours east of Vancouver by car, the valley is gaining recognition alongside better-known wine centres such as Bordeaux, Tuscany, Napa and Rioja, forcing even snooty oenophiles to take notice of Canadian wine with labels such as Little Engine, Moon Curser Vineyards, Laughing Stock and Painted Rock.

…while the 2020 Painted Rock Cabernet Franc lists for nearly $300 at the Braywood, a stylish modern British restaurant in the Berkshire countryside, close to London.

On December 2, 2025 The Wed’s Kayla McFadden included Painted Rock in her article titled “17 Best Wedding Venues in Canada”

Painted Rock Estate Winery sits above Skaha Lake like a well-kept secret, surrounded by vineyards. It’s a modernist dream in the heart of wine country, all clean lines and panoramic views that shift with the light. Painted Rock supports a range of wedding styles, whether that’s a small gathering indoors, an open-air evening under the stars, or a sit-down dinner featuring local Okanagan cuisine for up to 100 people.
